Woodvale Community League (WCL) Membership cost: $25.00 (family or single)

Valid from Sept 1, 2024 to Aug 31, 2025; on sale now at the WCL office and online (NEW!); please visit www.woodvale.org to order yours today. Memberships also available through the www.efcl.org website but have an additional $5 processing fee.

WCL office is located on the 2nd floor of the Woodvale Facility on the Millwood’s Golf Course (4540-50 St NW)

Free Swimming at the Mill Woods Recreation Centre on Saturdays from 3 to 4:30 pm. (2023-2024 Woodvale memberships valid to Aug 31, 2024 and 2024-2025 accepted now to Aug 31, 2025)

Working Bingos or Casinos for Woodvale can provide reimbursement credits towards programs offered by a non-profit organization with an AGLC approved gaming account. See woodvale.org and check under Latest News, and then under Bingos for details.

Free Mill Woods Seniors Association membership with purchase of Woodvale Community League Membership

Purchase your community league membership and be reimbursed for your Seniors association membership. Memberships must be purchased under the same name, and receipt to be provided to the Community League Office. One membership reimbursement per household.

Meetings:

Community League Executive meetings held on 3rd Tuesday evening of each month (except July) at the Woodvale Facility (on the golf course) at 7:00 PM. The next Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on October 15, 2024.

This is just a partial list of how the Woodvale Community League supports the community:

Built and operates the Woodvale Facility on the Mill Woods Golf Course
-
Built the Activity Centre next to Greenview Park and FREE USAGE is provided to qualifying non-profit groups; current users include the Playschool, Jr. Forest Wardens, Yoga classes, Brownies, Youth Groups.

Planted the trees and shrubs on the boulevards along 38 Ave from 50 St to 66 St; as well trees were planted in and around both Hillview and Greenview Parks. WCL added additional walkways to complete walking trail system.

Built basketball courts in Hillview and Greenview Parks.

Built the Greenview Park Skating Rink.

Contributed to reshaling the baseball diamonds in Woodvale.

Provided funding to assist MCARFA in getting the Jackie Parker Spray Park built.

Provided at least $150,000 to rebuild each of the 3 playgrounds in Woodvale (in Hillview Park, in Greenview Park and on John Paul 1 School grounds) for a total of over $496,000. Hillview Park playground was rebuilt in 2014, John Paul 1 playground was rebuilt in 2015 and the playground in Greenview Park was rebuilt in 2017.

Contributes funding towards the Canada Day Celebrations held in Mill Woods Park on July 1.

Provided funding on a matching grant basis annually to each of the 3 schools in Woodvale: Greenview, Hillview and John Paul 1. These grants have assisted in the purchase of such things as white boards, laptops, musical instruments, and athletic equipment.

Contributed to the Mill Woods Seniors Activity Centre (on Hewes Way) and helped with the purchase of a new photocopier for the centre.

Donated annually to support local charities and programs

Subsidizes an annual golf tournament at Mill Wood’s Golf Course for Woodvale Community League members.

Holds yearly Community League Day celebrations (3rd Saturday in September).

Provided water bottle refill stations in the 3 schools in Woodvale and in the “In Your Neighborhood Playschool” located in the Activity Centre.
